As a student athlete participating in extra-curricular athletics it is fully expected that each participant will respect and adhere to the rules and regulations set out by the Athletic Board comprised team of coaches/sponsors, school administration and the athletic director. Competing on school teams is a privilege and should reflect the virtues of school spirit, sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication. All student athletes should aspire to allow their participation in athletics to represent an extension of their overall school experience.
All team uniforms and athletic equipment are property of Templeton Secondary School and as such should only be used during game competition. Moreover, each player is solely responsible for the care and return of their assigned uniform(s). Failure to do so will result in receiving an invoice notice from the school office to bear the cost of replacing said uniform.
ATHLETIC CONSENT/ ATHLETIC FEE
All student athletes will be asked to return this form signed by a parent or legal guardian granting written consent for participation in all team activities accompanied by the applicable athletic fee. Preferred payment method is by personal cheque made out to ‘Templeton Secondary School’. The fees collected are applied towards league dues, officiating costs, uniform/equipment maintenance, and invitation to a year end athletics banquet. As a reminder, the Vancouver School Board will not deny a child access to athletic program inclusion due to financial hardship. Parents and guardians who would like to request postponement, subsidy, or athletic fees to be waived for the current school year should contact the school principal and/or athletic director.
If you have any questions/concerns regarding this notice please feel free to contact us at the school. Thank you for the continued support.
